Sustainability
Let's start by being honest we are beginners...
I was getting more and more concerned about my consumption and my impact. Trying to make mine the quote :"The most environmentally friendly product is the one you didn’t buy" from Joshua Becker.
The opening of a shop, selling goods seemed at first like going in the wrong direction... but I decided that being part of the change within your community was also important. If I was careful with my consumption, sourcing products that I would sell needed to be even more cautiously investigated.
I wanted to partner with sustainable brands and Spanish ones. I searched them all to try and select the ones which I believed where not just talking about sustainability but invested in it. I did not always find what I was looking for and have a few items coming from France... Again I try, and I limit as much as I can. I know I still have much to learn and to improve. The conversion is in progress.
Sustainability, Design and Quality are key factors in our product selection and manufacturing. We are committed to providing you with stylish and environmentally-friendly products that align with your values. We’re getting greener every step of the way, while still providing you with the quality products you deserve.
sustainable choices
Ethical Production Method
Each product you see in our e-shop is made on-demand—once you place an order, we produce it specifically for you. This allows us to avoid overproduction and textile waste, and we’re continuously working toward greener production. This way we get to take care of you and the planet we all share.
Eco-friendy Production Technique
Our printing partner’s high-quality printing tech creates almost no wastewaters and uses less energy than standard industry printers.
- Information about direct-to-garment printing
Our clothing designs are fulfilled using various methods. Many of our products are printed with the direct-to-garment (DTG) technique, which is a printing method where ink is first sprayed directly onto the garment, and then it soaks into the fabric. It’s like printing on paper, but on clothing. We use Kornit printers that generate almost zero wastewater and use less energy than standard industry printers, which lowers our carbon footprint.
The inks we use for printing are Oeko-TexTM certified, vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. Mañana Maybe takes sustainability seriously, that’s why we take care to properly dispose of any left-over ink according to the ink supplier guidelines.
- Information about embroidery
At Mañana Maybe, we embroider our products with Oeko-TexTM certified threads, meaning they’re safe for both adult and children's clothing. Compared to printing, embroidery is generally more durable and produces less environmental waste.
Certified product materials
There are a lot of reasons why a product or material could be considered sustainable. Currently, at Mañana Maybe our clothes collection consists of t-shirts items made of 100% organic materials and of sweatshirts made of at least 80% organic or recycled materials, or a mix of these materials. All of our fabrics used for the manufacturing of our clothes are certified by GRS (Global Recycled Standard), OCS (Organic Content Standard), and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).
Carbon footprint reduction shipping
Around 84% of your orders are delivered in the same region they’re fulfilled. Having fulfillment centers close to our customers is good both for the business and the planet. Strategically located fulfillment centers allow for faster shipping times and lower shipping costs, and it also helps with reducing the CO₂ emissions produced when transporting orders.
Eco-friendly packaging*
At Mañana Maybe all apparel products are packed in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic mailers. The amount of PCR in the packaging will differ depending on where your order gets printed, but it’s at least 50% for the outside (white or grey) poly mailer bags and at least 30% for the inside (clear) bags used in multi-item shipments.
PCR packaging is made from everyday items, like used plastic bags and bottles. This material protects your order just as well as regular plastic bags, however, choosing PCR over first-use plastics reduces the environmental impact plastic has on our planet.
We’ve also reduced the use of packaging altogether and introduced triangular cardboard boxes for poster orders to replace tubes with plastic end caps.
*Note: This information applies to our supplier's in-house facilities. Apparel products that are fulfilled in partner facilities might be packaged differently.
